EDMOND, Okla. -
Marti Yaerger went a combined 7-for-8 across both contests Friday evening as No. 19 Oklahoma Christian defeated Texas A&M International in the final two games of the divisional opponents' season series, 6-0 and 4-3.
In game one, Yaerger became the first Eagle this season to record four hits in one game, going a perfect 4-for-4 at dish while adding two RBI and two runs scored. Yaerger's seven hits in a two-game stretch are the most in consecutive games since Jaiden Johnson in 2020.
Fellow freshman
Victoria Brazil claimed timely hits in the doubleheader, finishing her day 3-for-5 with five RBI as her and Yaerger sent a solo and two-run home run, respectively, in the day's first contest.
In the circle, game-one starter
Jill Dickson (14-8) posted her fifth shutout of the season while
Grace Anderson (15-6) posted her 16th complete game of 2025 in the day's finale.
No. 19 Oklahoma Christian (29-15, 22-12 LSC) will have a day off before meeting Texas A&M-Kingsville at Lawson Softball Complex in the season's second doubleheader slate between the two programs Sunday, Apr. 13 at 12 and 2 p.m.
Game One: No. 19 Oklahoma Christian 6, Texas A&M International 0
Yaerger foreshadowed her big day from the jump with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first, sending just her second ball over the outfield wall of the season. Sydney Seat came around following her single to score off a Brazil sacrifice fly to open a 2-0 OC lead after one inning of play.
Dickson kept the Eagles' 2-0 lead intact, sitting down the next six Falcon batters before the maroon-and-gray's second home run of the day doubled their score as Brazil put Oklahoma Christian out ahead, 4-0, in the third frame.
International put two runners on base in two of its next three team at-bats, but were unable to bring a runner across the plate before OC added another two runs in the sixth with a back-to-back
Kadence Brewster triple and Yaerger single. The final three TAMIU outs came via strikeout as Dickson handed the Eagles the game-one win.
Game Two: No. 19 Oklahoma Christian 4, Texas A&M International 3
For the second time of the day, Oklahoma Christian jumped out early with a one-run first inning. The Dustdevils responded in the top of the second with their first runs against OC in the season series, using a bases-clearing two-out triple to instill a 3-1 lead.
The 3-1 lead remained until OC slowly started to cut away at the deficit with a single run in the third and then plate the game-tying run in the fifth on a two-out double from Brazil. Following TAMIU's three-run second frame, Anderson did not allow a Dustdevil base runner to reach third.
With play moving to the bottom of the seventh at 3-3, International's only error of the day came on OC's first at-bat, allowing Ka. Brewster to reach before a Yaerger single brought the winning run to third. Seat came through with the game-winning RBI as Ka. Brewster snuck in under the tag for the walk-off victory, 4-3.
