Kragt's Second Save of Weekend Leads OC to Series Win in Finale

LAREDO, Texas - For the second straight season, Oklahoma Christian won the series against Texas A&M International, this time taking down the Dustdevils on their home field in the weekend finale, 9-6.

Naut Kragt picked up his second save of the weekend, maintaining OC's three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth to give the Eagles their first LSC series win since Mar. 16, 2024. Coming to the mound with two runners on and one out with the 9-5 advantage, Kragt faced just three batters, allowing zero hits and zero earned runs in two-thirds of an inning.

Hank Heiselbetz (3-for-5) and Trey Migl (4-for-5) combined to go 7-for-10 with five RBI in the lead-off and two-hole position to propel an Eagles offense that out-hit International, 14-9. For the entire series, OC tallied 45 hits compared to 30 for TAMIU.

How it happened
  • A scoreless first inning gave way to a three-run second frame from Oklahoma Christian, followed by a four-run third to put the Eagles up, 7-1. In those two innings, Heiselbetz recorded a double and a single with three RBI to help establish the six-run lead.
  • International added a single run in the fourth before the maroon-and-gray got two back in the top of the sixth off of Trey Migl's first home run of the season to plate two runs to score OC's final runs of the day.
  • After the Eagles' seven-run lead was cut to four after a International three-run blast in the ninth, Kragt entered the action with two men on and one out, bringing the tying run to the on-deck circle. Only one batter Kragt faced reached base, courtesy of a fielding error, as the lead never got under three runs.
