Dickson Deals, Eagles Walk Off Bison to Complete 2-0 Day

EDMOND, Okla. - Trailing 3-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth against Oklahoma Baptist Saturday night, Oklahoma Christian put up single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to complete the 4-0 weekend of the 2025 UCO/OC Classic. Before the walk-off thriller, the Eagles bested (RV) Pittsburg St., 3-1.

In the night cap, Jill Dickson (4-0) recorded a season-high 12 strikeouts - the second most of her career - while allowing just three hits and three runs. Two of her 12 punch-outs came in the top of the seventh to maintain the tie before OC's Maci George used a walk-off double to win it for the maroon-and-gold.

Kiley Brewster went 3-for-6 at the plate for the day while George reached base a grand total of four times in the two games: Tallying two walks against (RV) Pittsburg St. and two his against Oklahoma Baptist. Madi Drummond had a team-high two RBI against the Gorillas on what wound up being the game-winning hit in the bottom of the fourth.

Oklahoma Christian (7-1) will bring its six-game win streak into conference play when it heads to San Angelo, Texas, to take on No. 11 Angelo State in a doubleheader Friday, Feb. 14 and then at Lubbock Christian Sunday, Feb. 16.

GAME ONE: No. 24 Oklahoma Christian 3, (RV) Pittsburg St. 1
Both pitchers worked three-up, three-down in the first inning before Oklahoma Christian got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. Following Kate Paulsen's RBI-single, OC pitcher Grace Anderson held PSU at bay until the game-tying run came in the top of the fourth, 1-1.

In the home-half of the fourth, George and Anderson got on base with a walk and a single, respectively, before the next two Eagle batters got out, sending Drummond to the plate. Making just her second start of the season, the Owasso, Okla., native sent a single through the left side to give OC its second lead of the game, 3-1.

Anderson retired the next nine Gorilla batters in order as Oklahoma Christian stood one victory away from sweeping the 2025 UCO/OC Classic.

GAME TWO: No. 24 Oklahoma Christian 4, Oklahoma Baptist 3
Dickson struck out two of OBU's first three batters, foreshadowing the next six innings for Bison batters. Oklahoma Baptist did not claim its first hit until the fourth inning. By that point, OC had already opened up a 2-0 lead before the green-and-gold erased that deficit in the fourth.

Two runs came in for the Bison off two hits and one error as play stood tied, 2-2. With the Eagles leaving two base runners stranded in the fifth, Oklahoma Baptist took the opportunity with a solo shot in the sixth to see its first lead of the game, 3-2.

Immediately in the home-half of the sixth, OC tied it back with a Paulsen RBI-single - her second of the day - to score George, who led off the frame with a single. Now with the score tied, as previously mentioned, Dickson struck out two of the next three Bison batters to open the door for a walk-off victory.

Ki. Brewster started things off with a walk before her twin sister Kadence Brewster used a single to advance her to third. With two on and all three outs still to play with, George put one over the left-fielder's head to set off the celebration.
