Late Game Struggles Make Way for Hilltoppers to Complete Fourth Quarter Comeback Over the Lady Eagles on the Road

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (8-15, LSC 5-14) finished their final road trip in Texas with a tough loss to St. Edward's University (11-16, LSC 7-10) in Austin, TX.

First Quarter

The first few minutes of the game were a battle between the two teams, with each team eager to gain early momentum.

Senior Kate Bradley drained two early threes in the game to pump up the Lady Eagles bench, but the Hilltoppers could keep up with the Lady Eagles shot for shot.

The home team, the Hilltoppers, gained momentum, ending the first 10 minutes of play with a six-point 22-16 lead.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, the Hilltoppers made a few quick buckets to build their lead, but behind Nakia Cullom's scoring, the Lady Eagles went on a 7-0 scoring run to bring the game back within a possession of play.

Trinity Dobbs and Jordan Francisco come off the bench and provide stellar play for the Lady Eagles to continue the 12-2 scoring run in the second quarter and tie the game at 28 before the media timeout.

Immediately after the stoppage of play, Cullom hits a jumper to grab OC's first lead of the day.

The Lady Eagles play some great defense to close out the half, entering the locker room with a 32-31 lead over the Hilltoppers.

The Lady Eagles outscored the Hilltoppers 16-9 in the second quarter and shot well, recording a first-half percentage of 50% from the field.

Third Quarter

Oklahoma Christian continued to shoot well, hitting from long range in the third quarter, but St. Edward's, the home team, did not give up. They returned to being down just one point late in the third quarter.

Despite the Hilltoppers regaining the lead from the Lady Eagles, it did not last long. OC finished the third quarter with a made jumper from Dobbs and entered the final quarter with a one-point lead.

Fourth Quarter

Motivated to keep their postseason hopes alive, the Hilltoppers stormed back to claim a victory in their final home game, beating the visiting Lady Eagles 63-69.
