SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles (8-14, LSC 5-13) traveled down to take the Rattlers of St. Mary's (11-12, LSC 7-10) and walked away with a 74-71 overtime conference road win.
First Quarter
Jordan Francisco made her presence known in the paint, dropping six points in the first ten minutes of play. She also disrupted the defensive side of the ball, holding St. Mary's to just 36% shooting from the field.
However, the Rattlers stayed in the game and ended the first frame tied, thanks to their perfect 4-4 shooting from the foul line.
Second Quarter
The home team opened the second quarter with an 8-0 scoring run, but the Lady Eagles needed to find a spark to prevent them from falling further behind.
Off the bench for OC, Trinity Dobb hit two three-pointers to grab the lead from the Rattlers, followed by two deep threes from
Nakia Cullom, including one at the buzzard at the half, to take a six-point lead in the locker room.
Third Quarter
The Lady Eagles came out of the half with all the momentum, dropping 20 in the third quarter behind a 16-point combined effort from
Kate Bradley,
Nakia Cullom, and
Ciara Harris.
The Lady Eagles went into the fourth quarter with an 11-point lead.
Fourth Quarter
St. Mary's stormed back in the fourth quarter to grab a lead back behind a 12-point 10 minutes from Christin Callens.
It would take five extra minutes to decide the winner as St. Mary's stormed back to tie the game.
Overtime
The Lady Eagles would shut down any chance of coming back behind a combined 11-point effort from
Kate Bradley and
Ciara Harris to extend their winning streak to two games.. The Lady Eagles got their revenge on the Rattlers, winning 74-71 in OT.
