No. 3 Eagles Finish Fourth as Second Round Canceled Due to Rain

HOUSTON, Texas - Following a dreary day one leading to a rained-out final round, No. 3 Oklahoma Christian placed fourth out of 16 teams in its first tournament of 2025 at the Houston Classic with a two-round score of 11-over 587.

After a 2-over 74 first round, Leandro Mihaich recorded the third best round of the anyone in the field over the second 18-hole stint at 4-under 68, moving up 11 spots on the leaderboard for a sixth-place 2-under 142 finish. In his second time through the course, the Bell Ville, Argentina, native shot a bogey-less round which also featured four birdies.

Oskari Nikku sat one shot back of Mihaich, finishing eighth on the leaderboard, shooting at or below par in both rounds of competition for a 1-under 143. In the opening round, Nikku responded to a 2-over front nine with a 3-under back nine, including an eagle on the 572-yard par 5 13th.

Playing as an individual, Joey Lewis joined Nikku as the only two Eagles to not shoot above par for either round. Matching Nikku's 1-under 143, Lewis paced Oklahoma Christian for the tournament with 10 birdies.

Exequiel Rodgriguez carded two 2-over 74 rounds to finish 4-over 148 at 24th place. Vertti Perala and Blas Ayesa completed the OC five-bag with a pair of 12-over 156s.

Mason Brown competed as an individual, seeing the biggest rise of any Eagle for the event, responding to an 8-over 80 with a 1-over 73 to finish in a tie for 55th after closing the opening round in 74th.

No. 3 Oklahoma Christian will now return to the Sooner State for a couple weeks before playing its next team event in Las Vegas, Nev. at the Las Vegas Desert Classic hosted by Missouri-St. Louis Mar. 2-4.
