EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian left 2025 with a 27-point victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State Thursday evening, ending the calendar year on a two-game win streak.
Carson Jones (15) and
Miles Gibson (12) led the Eagles in scoring while OC got season-high contributions off the bench from
Noah Clark, with the freshman recording eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks in 19 minutes of action.
Elijah Bailey tallied four of the maroon-and-gray's 11 steals on the night as Oklahoma Christian forced 17 Aggie turnovers. The Eagles dominated in the point, 34-18, and also won the points-off-turnovers battle, 25-10.
Oklahoma Panhandle State actually saw two leads within the first two minutes of game time before OC took control. A lightning-fast first half came and went after just four fouls were called in the opening 20 minutes as the maroon-and-gray went to the locker room with a 38-21 lead.
As Oklahoma Christian continued to grow its lead throughout the second half, an 8-2 run capped by
Jayce Daniels' first three-pointer of the season delivered the largest lead of the game at 2:09 mark, 72-41, before OC eventually took the in-state matchup, 73-46.
The Eagles (6-4, 1-3 LSC) will not play inside the Payne Athletic Center until Thursday, Jan. 8 but will return to the hardwood Friday, Jan. 2 in Laredo, Texas, against Texas A&M International for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
