EDMOND, Okla. - The Oklahoma Christian women's basketball program got the 2025 season started with its largest victory over an NCAA Division II opponent since the 2023-24 campaign after defeating Chadron State Saturday evening, 73-48.
The Eagles held CSC to single-digit points in each of the first two quarters, holding a 37-18 lead at halftime before jumping ahead by 28 after three quarters.

Oklahoma Christian came out of the gate fast, with Willis logging her first points as an Eagle six seconds into game action before both teams evened out as the opening quarter wore on. After the fast start, the Eagles from Nebraska took a brief of the lead, 7-6. Two minutes later, the maroon-and-gray retook a lead it never relinquished.
With the game tied, 9-9, Oklahoma Christian closed the quarter on a 9-0 run before seeing its first double-digit lead less than two minutes into second-quarter action. Another 11-0 burst from OC established a 33-15 advantage before the Eagles went into the break, 37-18.
The second half held the largest lead of the game for OC with a 32-point, 59-27, decisive lead before running away with the season opener, 73-48. Oklahoma Christian's 24-point third-quarter with a 66.7 field-goal percentage (8-12) proved to be the final push the maroon-and-gray needed.
The Eagles (1-0, 0-0 LSC) will return to the Payne Athletic Center Sunday, Nov. 16 for an encore against Chadron State with a 2 p.m. tip-off.Â
