Camryn McGough led the team in both kills (8) and blocks (7) as Oklahoma Christian dominated Sul Ross State Thursday night, 25-13, 25-17, 25-17.
Of McGough's seven blocks, three of the rejections were unassisted as she now has 12 solo blocks on the season, which is tied for the fifth most in a single season in program history. The Plano, Texas, native is now OC's all-time leader in solo blocks (37) and total blocks (280).
While McGough also led the team in kills and attack percentage (.727),
Katy Geurin (.600) and
Lauren Cary (.500) followed with the best efficiency among players with at least 10 total attacks, with the pair claiming six and five kills, respectively.
The Eagles, who hit .274 across the three sets compared to .040 for Sul Ross, never trailed at any point while only being tied six times, including four in the final frame. Oklahoma Christian's largest lead of the night came in the first set with a 23-10 advantage and a second double-digit in the third, 23-12, to highlight the maroon-and-gray's dominance.
Oklahoma Christian (13-7, 5-4 LSC) will now cross state lines to take on Western New Mexico Saturday, Oct. 25 at 12 p.m. MT / 1 p.m. CT.
