DENTON, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (6-12, LSC 3-11) traveled down I-35 Thursday, Jan. 30th, to take on the No. 2 ranked Texas Women's (20-1, 13-1). The Lady Eagles fall to the Pioneers 39-82.
First Quarter
The Pioneer and the Lady Eagles struggled to score in the first ten minutes of play at the Kitty Magee Arena. Both teams shot below their normal average.
But the Pioneers managed to separate themselves from the Lady Eagles, climbing to a 13-point lead at the end of the first play frame.
Second Quarter
The Lady Eagles battled through the second quarter, and they owe a big part of their success to Jordan Francisco and Reagan Berry, who played in the paint off the bench and combined for 10 points and four rebounds in the half.
Both teams struggled to shoot from the field and long range but found the battle coming to the foul line. In the first half, TWU claimed a slight advantage, missing only one of its 15 attempts compared to the 7-10 the Lady Eagles hit.
Despite the Lady 'Eagles' better quarter, they still found themselves down 19-35.
Third Quarter
Texas Women's came out of the half, opening up on a 10-0 run before Kate Bradley could drain a three-pointer to end the run.
Bradley finished the third quarter, scoring six points, and found some help on the perimeter from guard Trinity Dobbs, nailing a three late in the third quarter.
The Pioneers turned the tables on their shooting struggles of the first half, outscoring the Lady Eagles 31-11 to open up the second half.
Fourth Quarter
The Pioneers continued to shoot well in the second half, pushing their lead to over 40 points and beating the Lady Eagles 39-82.
With her 10 points tonight, Kate Bradley is now just 15 points away from hitting the 1000-point mark in her collegiate career.
