Men's Bowling Captures Day-One Crown at Eagle Invitational

BELTON, Mo. - The Oklahoma Christian men's bowling team headed up to Belton, Mo. as they would bowl the Eagle Invitational I & II on Jan. 25-26 hosted by Avila University

Both OC varsity and JV1 had the opportunity to compete in the Show Me State this weekend. Varsity was able to take home the win in the 14-team field on the first day of the Eagle Invitational after shooting a pinfall total of 5156, led by senior C.J. Petrin, who had finished in the Top-20 individually, averaged 204 for the five team games. 

JV1 had a respective five-game set in which they finished with a total pinfall total of 4646, which was good enough to finish fourth in the junior varsity field. The Eagles JV1 team was led by junior Benicio Lara, who averaged 206 on their day and was the highest Eagle individually finishing just outside of the Top-15. 

24 hours later, Oklahoma Christian took on the task of bowling the Eagle Invitational II on Jan. 26 after taking home the win in the Eagle Invitational I on Jan. 25. 

OC's varsity and JV1 teams bowled a total of 25 baker games to determine the winners of the varsity and junior varsity divisions for day two.

The Eagles varsity team  started off a little sluggish for the first five games but was able to climb out all the way up to third after 15 games.

Oklahoma Christian would stay in third place after the completion of the final 10 baker games.

OC men's bowling will head up north to bowl the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, Ind. hosted by Indiana University for their final regular season tournament of the year.
