LAS VEGAS, Nev.- Oklahoma Christian men's bowling headed out west to Las Vegas, Nev. to bowl the Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational hosted by Fresno State on Dec. 18-19 and the Collegiate Shoot-Out for two Tier 1 tournaments while in the Silver State.Â
Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational
Day OneÂ
OC's varsity team would have a slow start to the tournament as they would finish in 18th on Dec. 18 in the 55-team field after bowling five of the eight team games. The Eagles day one total was 4807, led by Sophomore Evan McDermott, who averaged 204 for the five team games.Â
Oklahoma Christian would also bring their junior varsity squad for the first time to the Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational. After five games of qualifying, OC would finish the day in fifth in the 16-team field with three more team games to bowl on day two.Â
Day TwoÂ
The Eagles varsity team hoped to improve in the standings as they needed to finish in the top 16 for qualifying in order to make matchplay. After bowling three more team games, Oklahoma Christian jumped from 18th to ninth place to qualify for matchplay in the stacked field led by senior C.J. Petrin who had averaged 214 for the eight games of qualifying through both days, including a 290 game in game 6.Â
OC would face off against the No. 8 seed, Mount Mercy, in the first round of match play. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they would fall to the Mustangs to end their tournament a few rounds early.Â
The Eagles junior varsity team was able to improve to fourth place in the standings as they rounded off their final three games of qualifying. This was good enough to make the four team JV matchplay.Â
OC would unfortunately fall to William Penn in the first round, 3-1. Â

Oklahoma Christian's junior varsity team would have a good day themselves as they would finish in fourth after the first five team games as they rolled a total pinfall of 4966 in the 16 team junior varsity field.Â

After four baker games, Oklahoma Christian would finish in the top two in their group match play to advance to the final four teams. The Eagles would bowl four more baker games and would finish the tournament in third place.Â
