SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Oklahoma Christian hit a respectable .234 against St. Edwards on day two of the LSC Challenge, but an impressive offensive showing from the Hilltoppers, which showed them hitting .352 as a unit, proved too much for OC Friday afternoon.
With SEU hitting .530 or better in two of the four sets, St. Edward's posted a 3-1 victory from Bill Greehey Arena. Junior outside hitter
Katy Geurin led the OC offensive attack with 11 attacks while hitting .286 for the contest.
Junior setter
Sophie Mae Smith recorded her fifth 20-assist match of the season with 25 assists to help facilitate the Eagle offense. Smith is currently 12th in the Lone Star Conference with 5.53 assists per set.
Facing a 2-0 hole, Oklahoma Christian powered through for a 25-22 third-set victory after hitting a team-high .351 in the frame. Junior middle
Camryn McGough's four third-set kills helped keep the Eagles alive for a fourth set.
With a bit of momentum, OC kept the fourth set close early before SEU scored 14 of the match's final 18 points to leave with the 3-1 victory.
