Eagles Tie SWOSU in First Road Match of 2024, 1-1

WEATHERFORD, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian led early, but a late penalty kick from Southwestern Oklahoma State ended play in a tie, 1-1. 

What Went Down

  • Kyla Lovelace scored the Eagles' only goal of the night with 20 seconds remaining in the first half off a Jadyn Daggs assist.
  • ​​​Goalkeeper Breanna Wooten helped deliver the draw with her second four-save match of the young season.   
  • With five minutes left on the clock, SWOSU scored the game-tying goal on a penalty kick.

Notes

  • After recording six ties last season, Thursday was the first tie of the 2024 campaign for the Eagles (1-0-1).
  • Lovelace has scored a goal in each of OC's first two matches and now has 20 career goals. 
  • Senior Morgan Berres saw her first action since returning from ACL surgery.
