NORMAN, Okla. - Off a third consecutive trip to the NCAA Divison II National Semifinals, the Oklahoma Christian men's golf program received its highest DII preseason ranking ever at No. 3 in the Bushnell/Golfweek DII Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Eagles, who received one of the 19 available first-place votes, are the highest ranked team from the Lone Star Conference, followed by 2024 conference tournament champion DBU at No. 14, West Texas A&M tied at No. 15 and Midwestern State coming in at No. 21.
Defending national champion Colorado Christian, who defeated Oklahoma Christian in last year's semifinal match, topped the poll with nine first-place votes, followed by North Georgia with seven. No. 5 Georgia Southwestern and No. 8 Florida Southern joined OC with one first-place nod, while West Florida filled out the Top-5 at No. 4.
The Eagles return all five players from last year's run to the National Semifinals, including 2024 Jack Nicklaus DII Golfer of the YearÂ
Leandro Mihaich and Second Team All-American
Exequiel Rodriguez, who did not play a single round above par at last season's National Championships.
In addition to Mihaich and Rodriguez, Third Team All-American
Oskari Nikku and Honorable Mention All-American
Blas Ayesa bring an experienced and talented group back to Edmond, Okla. for head coach
David Lynn.
"The experiences that our returning line up has had over the last three seasons gives us an incredible foundation to be successful at the end of the year," Lynn said. "I think this group is hungry to be the last team standing in May and I look forward to the journey to becoming an amazing on and off the course."
The quest for the ultimate collegiate prize begins Monday, Sept. 23 when Oklahoma Christian opens the new season in West Palm Beach, Fla. at the NCAA National Preview, played at the site of the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships. Â
