Canyon, Texas - No. 5 seed Oklahoma Christian opened south central regional play with a matchup against Lone Star Conference opponent, and No. 4 seed, Angelo State.
The Eagles' bats were hot early, putting runners in scoring position in every inning, before breaking through in the fourth inning.
Angelo State struck first, scoring their only runs of the game on a two-run home run in the bottom of the second to give them a 2-0 lead.
Kiley Brewster cut the Rambelles' lead in half, scoring
Grace Anderson on a sacrifice fly to center field. Anderson reached base on a walk, moved to second on a
Kylie Janzen sacrifice bunt, and took third on a
Brooklin Bain single.
Oklahoma Christian poured it on, scoring in three consecutive innings, thanks to three RBI singles, and an RBI double.
In the top of the fifth,
Kristen Whitehouse and
Grace Anderson drove in
Presley Main and Whitehouse on RBI singles, giving OC its first lead at 3-2.
Whitney Walde extended the lead in the sixth, plating
Brooklin Bain on an RBI single, and
Kadence Brewster drove Walde in on an RBI double, that gave Oklahoma Christian a 5-2 lead.
Grace Anderson got the start in the circle and never left, only allowing the two runs on the home run, holding ASU to three hits while striking out five Rambelle batters.

Oklahoma Christian will take on the No. 8 seed Regis, who upset the No. 1 team in the nation, and host school West Texas A&M, in the first game of the tournament. The first pitch for the winner's bracket game is scheduled for noon.
