Gutsy Performance Leads Eagles to Win Over Regis and Trip to Championship Saturday

Canyon, Texas - Coming off a 5-2 win over No. 5 seed Angelo State last night, Oklahoma Christian took on the No. 8 seed Regis, who upset the No. 1 seed West Texas A&M in the regional opener.

Oklahoma Christian wasted no time, striking first on an Aaliyah Brown RBI single that plated Brooklin Bain, who reached on a single, advancing to second on a groundout, and third on a wild pitch.

OC blew the game open in the top of the third, scoring on a Karsyn Iltis RBI single, and taking a five-run lead on a three-run home run off the left field foul pole from the bat of Kristen Whitehouse.

The Eagles had five hits in the inning, with Kiley Brewster, Whitney Walde, Kadence Brewster, Karysyn Iltis, and Kristen Whitehouse each tallying a hit.

Jill Dickson held Regis off the board through three innings, but the Rangers rallied in the bottom of the fourth, scoring four runs on three hits.

A bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the six tied the game at 5-5 and opened a new game going into the seventh inning.

Brooklin Bain and the Eagles' offense wasted no time regaining the lead, as Bain singled and advanced on a Ki. Brewster sacrifice bunt to open the inning. A Whitney Walde single advanced Bain to third, and in the next at-bat Walde drew a throw to second base on a steal attempt, allowing Bain to swipe home.

Kadence Brewster earned her second win of the season in the circle, getting Oklahoma Christian out of a jam in the bottom of the sixth, and pitching through the seventh, with the game ending on a diving catch by Tristyn Hamilton in center field.
