Men’s Golf Earns Another Trip to the Final Four, Concludes Season with a Battle Against Colorado Christian

Winter Garden, Florida - Oklahoma Christian advanced to match play for the third straight year at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships and won their first match of the day before falling in a battle in the final four.
 
Match One vs. Wingate
Vertti Perala got the call to the lead Eagles on the course, and went blow for blow with his opponent, before the match flipped on the 18th green, giving Wingate an early lead. Perala shot a strong 72 (+1) in the round.
 
Oskari Nikku was next on the course, and after falling behind on the back nine, forced a tie as both guys shot a 74 (+3).
 
Leandro Mihaich picked up OC's first win, shooting a 69 (-2) in his round to swing the momentum back to the Eagles.
 
Exequiel Rodriguez, who didn't shoot a round above even par all week, turned in a 70 (-1) to earn Oklahoma Christian another point and give them a 2-1-1 advantage.
 
Blas Ayesa sealed the match, gaining strokes on 17 and 18, and picked up the decisive third point.
 
Match Two vs. Colorado Christian
Perala again led Oklahoma Christian with the first tee time in the semifinal, in a match that he trailed for the front nine, and led for most of the back nine, before it tied hole 16, and went to Colorado Christian on 18. Perala shot a 73 (+2) in his round to keep the match tight.
 
Nikku's second match saw four ties and five lead changes, with the final one coming on hole 18 to give CCU a 2-0-0 lead. Nikku shot a 72 (+1), improving his score from the first round.
 
Mihaich shot another round of 69 (-2), holding off his opponent on the back nine, and earning a point for OC.
 
Rodriguez continued his incredible play, also turning in a 69 (-2), but his opponent had one of those days, shooting a low round of 63 (-8).
 
Blas Ayesa's match was full of runs, seeing him trail early, take the lead in the middle, and fall down the stretch. Ayesa turned in a 72 (+1) in his final round.
