Eagles Battle in Super Regional Opener, Look to Even Series Tomorrow at Noon

Tyler, Texas - Oklahoma Christian opened super regional play against the University of Texas at Tyler Patriots,

The Patriots worked around a first-inning single and scored three unearned runs with two outs after a great throw from left field to the plate got away.

OC threatened in the top of the third getting a couple of runners on base, but UTT was able to work around the threat.

Jill Dickson ended the bottom of the fourth with a strikeout and opened the top of the fourth with an opposite-field home run. Scoring the Eagles' first NCAA DII super regional run.

The Kylie's (Kiley) teamed up to cut the lead down to one, after Kylie Janzen reached on a walk, and advanced to third on a Brooklin Bain single, Kiley Brewster drove Janzen in on an RBI ground out.

Three more unearned were scored by UTT in the bottom of the inning after a miscommunication in the outfield led to the Patriots' runs.

Tristyn Hamilton hosed a runner at third to help the Eagles get out of a potential bottom-of-sixth-inning jam, bringing them up in the top of the seventh.

Oklahoma Christian worked the bases loaded, and Brown worked a two-out full-count RBI walk to bring the winning run to the plate, but the Patriots secured the final out to take one.
