Eagles Extend Win Streak to 8 Games, Secure the Doubleheader

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (26-14, 22-10) took on Texas A&M - Kingsville (24-16, 17-15) in a Friday afternoon doubleheader and recorded two wins, starting the series out 2-0.

Game 1

The Javelinas got on early, loading the bases in the top of the first, but Jill Dickson was able to get out of it with a strong start on the mound.

In her first collegiate at bat, Jill Dickson hit an RBI single off the centerfield wall, scoring Karsyn Illtis and putting the Eagles on the board in the bottom of the second. Kylie Janzen would then follow it up with an RBI single to left field, driving in another run for OC. The Eagles led 2-0 heading into the third.

Both teams would go the next three innings without scoring before Dickson gave up her first hit of the day on a TAMUK home run. The Eagles would close out the 6th inning still leading 2-1.

Jill was able to finish off the Javelinas, recording the final three outs in the top of the 7th and securing the win in game one of the doubleheader.

Game 2

In game two of the doubleheader, the Eagles really got the bats going, recording 9 hits and scoring 7 runs.

OC got on the board as early as the first inning off of a Kiley Brewster RBI single to center field, scoring Brooklin Bain.

TAMUK responded with a run of their own in the top of the second, but the Eagles bounced right back, scoring another run in the bottom of the inning. OC led 2-1 at the end of the second.

After two scoreless innings, the Javelinas tied it up in the top of the 5th at 2-2.

Heading into the bottom of the inning, Kylie Janzen put herself in scoring position after getting hit by the pitch. Brooklin Bain followed her up drawing the walk and Kylie Brewster reached on an error. With the bases loaded, Kadence Brewster reached on a fielder's choice RBI, scoring Janzen. Bain would then score on the double steal by her and Kadence Brewster.

Coming off of their strong 5th inning, the Eagles put their foot on the gas and never let up. OC would tack on three more runs thanks to a Kylie Janzen double and a Brooklin Bain Triple.

Grace Anderson pitched a stellar game two with a complete game victory. In Anderson's twelfth victory of the season, she struck out ten of the twenty-eight batters faced.

The Eagles would finish game two with a 7-2 victory.
