Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian has named four athletes to this week's Tinker Federal Credit Union Eagles of the Week. These four athletes led their teams to great outcomes for the week of competition and earned this recognition.
Jill Dickson - Dickson gave two great performances this weekend against Texas Woman's at home. In game one, Dickson went five innings giving up only one earned run and struck out four. Dickson's game three was outstanding with a no-hit performance to claim the series sweep.
Karsyn Iltis - Iltis had an impressive weekend at the plate with two, back-to-back walk-off performances. In the first game of the series against Texas Woman's, Iltis hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth and the next day to give Coach Rodriguez her 100th career victory, Iltis stepped up in the bottom of the seventh to bash a 3-run home run over the left field wall for another victory for the Eagles.
Leandro Mihaich - Mihaich helped lead the Eagles to a third place finish as a team in a field of sixteen division I teams at the historic Torrey Pines North Course. In his first two rounds, Mihaich posted even par 72 to set himself up for a round three 2-under performance, claiming another top-5 finish.
With just a few tournaments left in the year, Mihaich is currently ranked twelfth nationally and sixth in the regional rankings.
Exequiel Rodriguez- Rodriguez and the Eagles competed in a Division I field at Torrey Pines, finishing third as a team, led by Rodriguez's great play in the final two rounds.
Rodriguez started off round one battling to finish 2-over 74, and then turning around to take strokes off both round two and round three. Shooting a 1-under 71 and following this up with a final round 3-under 69 to finish the tournament tied for fourth with teammate Mihaich. Rodriguez is currently ranked nationally in the top-20 at seventeen and seventh regionally.
