Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian opened the final series of the season with a doubleheader split against Texas Permian Basin, which currently sits fifth in the Lone Star Conference standings.
Game 1
UTPB took an early lead, scoring two runs in the first three innings, but the Eagles matched the run in the top of the third with an
Ethan Box double in the bottom of the third.
An RBI groundout gave the Falcons a 3-1 lead until
Jadan Boyce crushed a home run to left-center field, cutting the lead in half.
Texas Permian Basin picked up a run in the sixth and seventh innings to win 5-2.
Game 2
Texas Permian Basin scored a run in the top of the first to open game two, but a
Johnny Behm RBI groundout in the bottom of the second tied the game at 1-1.
An RBI double and single gave the Falcons a 3-1 lead after the top of the third, only to be answered by a Greg Mascarinec solo home run.
In the top of the fourth, UTPB stretched its lead back to two with an RBI single up the middle.
Hank Heiselbetz stepped up with two runners on base and gave the Eagles their first lead with a three-run bomb to right field, giving OC a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the fifth.
Ethan Box followed that with a two-run home run, stretching the lead to 7-4, and
Sloan Laird had an RBI single in the bottom of the 6th to give Oklahoma Christian a four-run lead.
UTPB hit a two-run home in the top of the seven, but the Kirchhoff finished them off picking up a win and a split for OC.
