Eagles Look to Split Series With Falcons On Senior Sunday, Senior Ceremony Before First Pitch

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (11-38, 11-36) played an early Saturday morning game against UT Permian Basin (29-20, 27-20) for the third game of the series.

Game 3

Both teams took no time waking up today for the early game, as the scoring began in the first inning for both teams.

UTPB took an early 3-0 lead before the Eagles even had a chance to bat, but OC quickly tied things up going into the second inning. Hank Heiselbetz started things off with a leadoff walk. Sloan Laird followed this up with a single to put Eagles on the coroners. Hunter Jones brought in the first run-off with a single to bring in Heiselbetz. Ethan Box hit a deep fly ball next for a sacrifice fly RBI and the run of the inning came from a hard-hit double to bring home Jones.

OC kept the momentum going in the bottom of the second inning. Two Eagles would get on base as Hunter Jones stepped back up to the plate and crushed a ball over the left field wall to grab a 6-3 lead.

UTPB grabbed a few runs in the next few innings to eventually take a 10-6 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning.

Micheal Buckley hit a line drive home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the fifth with Antonio Sabala to get the Eagles within two runs.

The Eagles would put one more run on the board in the bottom of the seventh inning from Johnny Behm, but the Falcons found their stride from the plate, eventually taking the victory in game three.

Up Next
