With an 11-10 lead, drama ensued in the bottom of the inning, ASU drew a lead-off walk, and they advanced to second on a wild pitch. OC looked to have made one of the defensive plays of the year, throwing out the lead runner on an attempted sacrifice bunt, but Angelo State is one of the only teams in the Lone Star with review and used it to their advantage. After a lengthy review, it was deemed that the runner beat the tag and was safe at third.
Â
Following the review, the Rams drove a ball into right-center field that the Eagles' center fielder tracked and made what appeared to be a diving catch, but after making contact with the ground, the ball popped out of his glove and rolled to the fence, allowing Angelo State to walk off the game on a two-RBI double.
