Eagles and Javelinas End Series with a Battle of the Bats in Kingsville

Kingsville, Texas - The Eagles went hit-for-hit with the Javelinas in the final game of the four-game series, but a five-run fifth inning was the difference between the teams.

Game Four
Oklahoma Christian struck first, scoring two runs on a Justin Spencer two-RBI single down the left-field line. The single scored Ethan Box and Hank Heiselbetz, who reached on a walk and hit by pitch.

Heiselbetz reached on a walk in the bottom of the second, and Greg Maskarinec drove him in with an RBI double, giving OC a 3-0 lead.

A two-run homer in the bottom of the second cut the Eagles lead down to 3-2 going into the third inning.

Reed Carroll doubled with one out in the top of the third, and Colby Feris drove Carroll in with an RBI single, stretching Oklahoma Christian's lead back to two runs.

Heiselbetz was hit by a pitch again, the second of the four times in total he was hit by one today and advanced Michael Buckley, who reached on a walk into scoring position. Hunter Jones picked up an RBI single with the runner in scoring position, giving OC a 5-2 lead.

Both teams went scoreless in the bottom of the fourth and the top of the fifth, but TAMUK took its first lead with a five-run fifth inning that was capped with a three-run home run, putting the Javelinas on top, 7-5.

Another RBI single for Spencer in the top of the sixth cut the lead in half for OC, scoring Sloan Laird, who reached base on a single.

Texas A&M Kingsville extended its lead by hitting their second three-run home run of the game in the bottom of the 7th, taking a 10-6 lead.

Feris drove in Spencer with an RBI double in the top of the ninth, but the Javelinas were able to hold off the rally and won 10-7.
