Kadence Brewster’s Three-Run Triple, Gritty Pitching from Dickson Lead Eagles to Win over No. 2 Lady Buffs

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (15-11, 11-7) took down No. 2 ranked West Texas (22-2, 14-1) in game three of the series to shift momentum for going into the middle part of the season.

Game 3
Brooklin Bain led off the bottom half of the game, hitting her second home run of the series, giving OC an early 1-0 lead.

WT put runners on the corners with two outs in the top of the second and scored by getting the runner on first in a rundown, while the runner at third crossed home before the tag was applied in the rundown.

Kristen Whitehouse put the Eagles back on top on a sacrifice fly RBI in the bottom of the third, plating Karsyn Iltis, who reached base on a single.

Iltis extended OC's lead in the bottom of the fourth, driving in Brooklin Bain on an RBI single. Bain reached base earlier in the inning on a walk.

The Lady Buffs took the lead in the top of the fifth when a ball ricocheted off Jill Dickson into the outfield to clear the bases, giving WT a 4-3 lead.

Oklahoma Christian responded by loading the bases to open the inning, and Whitney Walde picked up an RBI on a walk to tie the game at 4-4.

Kadence Brewster stepped up with the bases loaded and cleared them with a three-run triple, giving the Eagles a 7-4 lead after five innings.

Jill Dickson, after taking the hard hit in the top of the fifth, gritted her to closing out the game, giving the Eagles a 7-6 win in the series finale.
