Odessa, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (17-11, 13-7) took down the University of Texas Permian Basin (4-22, 1-16) in the doubleheader matchup for the team's three-game series.
Game 1
The Eagles got their offense started in the top of the second with a great at-bat from
Aaliyah Brown that would eventually draw a lead-off walk.
Kristen Whitehouse kept things going for the Eagles with an infield single, followed by
Kylie Janzen drawing a walk to load the bases.
Brooklin Bain stepped up for her second at-bat of the game to draw another walk for the Eagles and bring in the first run.
The Eagles offense scored two more runs in the top of the fourth inning,
Kiley Brewster getting on base to lead it off. Brewster would then be driven in with a sacrifice fly from
Kate Paulsen, and then
Kristen Whitehouse would cross home off an error made by the Falcons.
Grace Anderson pitched a complete game shutout, only allowing four hits while striking out eight Falcons.
Game 2
In game two of the afternoon, the Eagles put on an offensive show, with four Eagles recording two RBIs as the Eagles took down the Falcons in run-rule fashion.
Kristen Whitehouse got things started for the Eagles in the top of the third inning with a lead single and advancing to second on a missed throw, which led to Whitehouse stealing third.
Tristyn Hamilton would bring Whitehouse home with a hit in the infield that forced the Falcons to make an error.
The Eagles would keep it going as
Kiley Brewster was able to drive in
Kadence Brewster, followed by another
Kristen Whitehouse hit that would bring in
Aaliyah Brown.
Kylie Janzen would keep the Eagles moving with a triple to bring Whitehouse home, and the Eagles would finish the scoring in the fourth with a
Tristyn Hamilton single to bring home Janzen.
At the top of the fifth, the Eagles started by getting the first two batters on base, allowing Walde to score from third off an error from the third baseman.
Kate Paulsen would bring
Kadence Brewster home in the next at-bat and then stole second base to put two in scoring position.
Kiley Brewster would bring in Brown with a sacrifice hit, and
Kristen Whitehouse would come up big again for the Eagles with an RBI single. The last runs would cross home from a
Brooklin Bain double, and Janzen and Whitehouse would cross home.
Jill Dickson pitched another shutout win, earning her 10th win of the season.
