No. 16 Eagles Earn Consecutive Wins Over Ranked Opponents with 5-3 Win Over No. 19 Rogers State

Oklahoma City, Okla- No. 16 Oklahoma Christian (3-3) took on No. 19 Roger State (6-2) in the last game of day two for the OC/UCO Softball Festival.

What Went Down
The Eagles had the bats going early and got runners on the bases, scoring a run in the first inning off a Kristen Whitehouse RBI single. Whitehouse's single scored Kadence Brewster, who reached base on an error.

In the bottom of the third, the Eagles scored four to take a big lead on the Hillcats, with Oklahoma Christian utilizing everyone in the lineup.

The inning started with a Whitney Walde single, and Walde advanced to second base on a Aaliyah Brown walk. Karissa Fiegener drove in Whitehouse on an RBI single, and Kylie Janzen matched that with an RBI single of her own, scoring Kate Paulsen, who pinch-ran.

Presley Main earned an RBI the hard way after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Grace Anderson helped herself in the circle by picking up an RBI on a sacrifice fly.

Rogers State scored two in the fourth inning and one in the fifth to cut the lead down to 5-3, but Haylee Monden made her debut and shutdown the Hillcats rally, striking out her first batter faced and ending the inning with a strikeout while the bases were loaded.

Jill Dickson closed the game in the circle and picked up her first save of the season as the Eagles won their second consecutive game against a ranked opponent.
