Eagles Split Final Day of the OC-UCO Classic

Oklahoma City, Okla- Oklahoma Christian played the two final games at Tom Heath Field in the OC/UCO Softball Festival by playing Pittsburgh State and Oklahoma Baptist.

OC vs. Pittsburgh State

What went down

The Eagles found themselves down one early in the game as Pittsburg State was able to get some runners on the bases early and found a way to get a run across.

Going into the third inning, the Eagles found themselves down two runs and looking to find a spark as Grace Anderson entered the circle for the Eagles.

As the Eagles made their way once through the lineup, Kadence Brewster came up and sent one over the right field fence to get the Eagles on the board.

The Eagles had a big 6th inning as they scored three runs, started by a single from Whitney Walde and quickly followed by a big RBI double from Aaliyah Brown

Kristen Whitehouse then came up with a big rip that turned into an RBI triple into the right-field corner.

The Gorillas would try to stop the bleeding with a new pitcher, but pinch hitter Marissa Powell would bring home one more before the inning ended.

The Eagles comeback fell just short as they dropped the game to Pittsburgh State, with the final score of 5-4.

OC vs. Oklahoma Baptist

What went down

The Bison started hot and scored two runs in the top of the first to take a 2-0 lead.

The Eagles had a big inning of their own, working the bases full, and Kiley Janzen crushed a grand slam deep over the right field wall to take the lead over the Bison.

The Bison got one back in the third, but Jill Dickson was able to pitch out of the jam.

The Bison came up to bat for their last chance. With a hard-hit grounder up the middle, a sacrifice bunt, and a walk, OBU had the tying run in scoring position and the leading run on first, but Jill Dickson shut them down with a strikeout and a pop fly in the infield to close the game out for the Eagles.

Eagles take down the Bison 4-3.
