Two Last-second blocks From Traylor and Savic Seal the Win for the Eagles, Staten and Johnson Notch Season and Career Highs

Kingsville, Texas- Oklahoma Christian (11-11, LSC 8-8) traveled to take on Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-16, LSC 3-13) and get the season sweep over them.

First Half

The game started with the Eagles jumping out to an early lead, creating a nine-point lead in the first four minutes. The Javelinas were able to settle in and work their way back into the game with a few small runs of their own.

At the half, the Eagles would hold a four-point lead over the Javelinas.

The Eagles were led by Hunter Staten, with 11 points, and Quinton Johnston with 14 points. The Eagles won the battle down low, outscoring the Javelinas in the paint 14-10, but the Javelinas found their sparks off the bench, as half their team's points came from outside the starting five.

Second Half

As the second half progressed, the game of runs continued as the Eagles found themselves up by as much as thirteen at one point before the Javelinas worked their way back to grab the lead in the last minutes of the game.

With just seconds remaining on the clock, Nickolas Traylor grabbed an offensive rebound and, on the putback, was fouled fighting through the contact. Traylor made the layup to tie the game and knocked down the free throw to grab the one-point lead with seven ticks left on the clock.

The Eagles played clutch defense as Traylor blocked the Javelinas' first attempt at a game-winning basket out of bounds. On the next play, Jovan Savic sealed the game with a monster block of his own.
