Silver City, NM - Oklahoma Christian (5-20, 4-17) traveled to Silver City, New Mexico, to take on Western New Mexico (9-16, 4-16) Saturday afternoon to finish out their two-game trip in New Mexico.
First QuarterÂ
Both teams came out in the first quarter looking to get their offensive rolling, trading baskets off with each other.
Asiyha Smith got the Eagles started by scoring eight in the first quarter.Â
Second QuarterÂ
The Mustangs were able to find a little more momentum for their offense than the Eagles in the second quarter, as OC would get outscored by Western's bench 14-17.Â
The Eagles went into half down nine.Â
Third QuarterÂ
The Eagles came out at half and took the momentum back from the Mustangs, winning the quarter by four to pull closer to the Western.Â
Fourth Quarter
Taylor Jackson took control of the game for the Eagles, dropping ten in the quarter and even helping the Eagles grab a lead with just over six minutes left in the game.Â
Down the stretch, Western New Mexico regained the lead and held off the Eagles to take the game.Â
