Smith Scores Career-High in Final Collegiate Game to Lead Eagles to Win in Fort Smith

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (6-20, 5-17) traveled to take on Arkansas-Fort Smith (11-17, 9-13) in the season finale.

First Quarter 

The first quarter was a defensive battle, with both teams knotted at twelve. 

Taylor Jackson led the Eagles by scoring four points and grabbing six boards. 

Second Quarter 

The Lions found a little momentum in the second quarter, grabbing a two-point lead over the Eagles to go into the half. 

Third Quarter 

Coming out of the half, Asiyha Smith began to find a rhythm, dropping ten points in the quarter and leading the Eagles to tie up the game going into the final ten minutes of the season.

Fourth Quarter 

Through the first few minutes of the quarter, the game stayed tight, with both teams trading baskets back and forth, but as the time ticked down, seniors Keira Neal and Asiyha Smith combined for sixteen points to help propel the Eagles to an eight-point victory.

Notes 

  • Senior guard Asiyha Smith closed out her collegiate career with a career-high 26 points on 50% shooting from the field and 43% from three. She also had 8 boards, 1 block, and 1 steal to go along with her career night.

  • Keira Neil also went out with a bang, putting up 13 points, 6 boards, 1 block, and 1 steal.

  • Taylor Jackson was dominant on the boards, pulling down 11, just one shy of her career-high.

  • The Lady Eagles won 3 of their last 5 games to finish the season out strong.
