Eagles Dominate Overtime to Win in Silver City

Silver City, NM - Oklahoma Christian (13-14, 10-11) finished their two-game road trip against Western New Mexico (4-21,2-18). 

First Half 

The Eagles were looking to bounce back from Thursday and get the offense going early. 

Bryce Kennedy came off the bench for the Eagles and did just that by dropping ten points on the first day. 

Moun'Tae Edmunson and Hunter Staten each scored seven to help give the Eagles a five-point lead at the half.

Second Half 

The Mustangs came out swinging the momentum to their side and tied the game up.

The Mustang would keep the momentum, taking a three-point lead with just under twelve minutes to play. 

With just two seconds left on the clock, Hunter Staten stepped up to the free throw line and knocked them both down, tying the game up to send it into overtime. 

Overtime

In extra time, the Eagles jumped out to an early four-point lead. 

As OT continued, the Eagles began to find their groove on offense as the Mustangs struggled to find the basket.

The Eagles dug deep to grab the win in Silver City, New Mexico.

  • The Eagles had four score in double figures.

  • Moun'Tae Edmundson tied to lead all scorers with 21 points. He also recorded 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. 

  • Karlyn Kenner scored 12  points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and had 2 steals.

  • Hunter Staten finished with 11 points, including the 2 free throws to send the game into OT. He also recorded 8 rebounds.

  • Bryce Kennedy scored 13 off the bench. 

  • Quinton Johnson and Jovan Savic both finished with 9 points.
