Eagles End Regular Season in Fort Smith with Most Wins Since 2012-2013

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (13-15, 10-12) wrapped up its season at Arkansas Fort Smith (7-22, 5-17)  in the final meeting between the teams as conference foes. 

First Half 

Ten different Eagles scored in a balanced attack in the first half, which saw the Eagles take a 12-point lead at 38-26 at one point in the half before the Lions went on a run to close the lead to 39-33 at the break. 

Hunter Staten led OC with 7 points in the half, and Karlyn was all over the board with 4 rebounds. 

Oklahoma Christian shot 44% in the half, knocking down five threes and getting to the line eleven times while knocking down eight at the charity stripe. 

Second Half 

The Lions opened up the second half of play by keeping the momentum they built late in the first half, going on an 8-5 run before the first media timeout of the half. 

Oklahoma Christian kept Arkansas Fort Smith at arm's length for most of the half, but UAFS hit a big three minutes left to play the Lions hit a big three-pointer to take the lead. 

OC cut the lead to 73-71 with under a minute left, but the Lions held on down the stretch to win the game. 

Notes 

  • Hunter Staten finished his last college games with a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double. Staten also recorded 3 assists and 4 blocks.

  • Karlyn Kenner dropped 12 points, grabbed 6 boards, and forced 2 steals. 

  • Moun'Tae Edmundson dropped 12 in his final game in an Eagles jersey. 

  • Quinton Johnson finished with 6 points and 5 boards. 

  • Javon Grant and Nickolas Traylor combined for 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. 

Wrap Up

The Eagles wrapped up the season with the most since the 2012-2013 season, notching thirteen wins, eleven of which came in Lone Star Conference play.
