Jackson’s Last-Second AND-ONE Earns Lady Eagles a Win Over the Greyhounds

Portales, N.M. - Oklahoma Christian rallied from a halftime deficit to pick up a win over Eastern New Mexico on a last-second old-fashioned three-point play.

First Quarter
OC opened the game, taking a five-point lead after the first ten minutes, led by Kate Bradley, who was a perfect 2-2 from beyond the arc, to give the Eagles a 16-11 lead.

Second Quarter
Eastern New Mexico rallied in the quarter, outscoring Oklahoma Christian 23-6 to take a 34-22 lead into the halftime break.

Third Quarter
The Eagles responded with a 23-point quarter, led by Jordan Francisco with 7 points, Nakia Cullom with 6, and Bradley with 5, to cut the lead down to four at 49-45 going into the final quarter.

Fourth Quarter
The defenses locked in down the stretch, and after it looked like the Greyhounds had a moment of momentum, the Eagles completed the comeback to tie the game at 56-56 all with 1:55 left.

Each team turned the other over in the final minutes, and OC missed a pair of free throws, leading to an Eastern New Mexico layup to take a 58-56 lead with 38 seconds remaining.

After the layup, ENMU missed a pair of free throws, giving the Eagles a chance to tie or win the game.

The Eagles drew up a play inbounded right in front of their bench with 6 seconds left, and after the initial layup missed, Taylor Jackson secured the offensive rebound and put it back while drawing a foul to tie the game with a second left. Jackson didn't let the crowd get to her and knocked down the free throw to seal the game for the Eagles, giving them a 59-58 victory on the road.
