Lady Eagles to Host Final Two Home Games of the Season This Week

Oklahoma City, Okla- Oklahoma Christian (3-18, LSC 2-15) will host their final two home games of the season this week, taking on St. Mary's (4-18, LSC 4-12) on Thursday and St. Edward's (7-15, LSC 4-12)  on Saturday, when we will honor three seniors. 

What To Know About OC 

  • Coach Markeith Brown is in his second season as the Lady Eagles head coach. 

  • Leading the way for the Lady Eagles is senior guard Brooklin Bain. Bain is averaging 14.3 points per game and 8 rebounds. Bain has recorded 5 double-doubles in the 15 games so far this season. Bain also sits 12th in conference scoring and 8th in rebounding.

  • Graduate student guard Asiyha Smith is providing the Eagles with quality possession, averaging 11.5 points per game and 2.6 assists. Smith has had 12 games scoring in double digits. 

  • The Lady Eagles have also seen good production from redshirt sophomore Taylor Jackson, who, coming off the bench, has provided production on both ends of the court, including four games scoring at least 13 points and being a force on the boards.

  • The Eagles have seen an uptick in production from junior guard Kate Bradley, who is coming off a career night vs. Midwestern State. In the last two games, Bradley has gone 9-17 from 3-point, scored 33 points, 8 rebounds, and had 10 assists. 

  • The Eagles sit three games outside the top 8 in the conference standings, with the top 8 teams making the Lone Star Conference tournament.

What to know about St. Mary's 

  • Valerie Huizar is in her 2nd year as the Rattlers' head coach. In her first season, she led St. Mary's to double their win total from the previous season. 

  • The Rattlers have a one-game advantage over the Eagles in the LSC East Division.

  • The Rattlers are led by freshman forward Taylor Haggan. Haggan is averaging 14.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

  • St. Mary's is also finding production from senior guard Teanna Huggins, averaging 9.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

The last matchup 

  • In the matchup earlier this season, OC picked up a big victory over St. Mary's. 

  • The Eagles had three players score in double figures, including a 24-point, 15-rebound double-double from Brooklin Bain. Asiyha Smith finished with 21 points, and Jordan Francisco played big minutes finishing with 10 points and 8 rebounds.

What to know about St. Edward's

  • Head coach J.J. Riehl is in her 12th season with the Hilltoppers, with an overall record of 161-155. 

  • The Hilltoppers are currently on a 4-game losing streak.

  • The Hilltoppers are one game ahead of the Eagles in the East Division in the LSC.

  • St. Edward's is led by freshman guard Janiah Perkins. Perkins is averaging 13.8 points, 3.1 assists per game, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. 

  • Freshman Bailey Featherstone is providing great production for the Hilltoppers, averaging 11.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. 

  • The Hilltoppers find experience in Jayda Ruffus-Milner. The Pepperdine transfer is averaging 10.7 points, 1 assist, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 steals a game. 

The last matchup 

  • The Hilltoppers took the victory in the first game earlier this season.
