Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (3-15, LSC 2-12) hosted the #13 team in the nation, Texas Woman's, Thursday in the Nest to open play in February.
First Quarter
The Eagles and the Pioneers both battled hard for baskets and traded punches back and forth.
Midway through the first, the Texas Women's was able to find a little momentum and gain a seven-point lead. As time expired in the first quarter, Kate Bradley hit a three-pointer from the top of the key to make it a two-possession game.
Asiyha Smith and Jordan Francisco led the Eagles, each scoring four points in the first ten minutes of play.
Second Quarter
The Pioneers looked to come out of the quarter and make a run, and they did just that, going on a nice run to go up by fifteen midway through the second quarter. The Eagles were able to fight back and get some baskets back, finding scoring from a few different Eagles.
The Eagles went into half down by fourteen and looked to make a run in the second half of play.
Third Quarter
The Eagles worked hard to get their offense going, and the Pioneers also came out firing and looking to continue their good momentum from the second quarter.
Brooklin Bain led the way for the Eagles in the third quarter as the Eagles outscored the Pioneers 21-20 in the third quarter.
The Eagles would need some defensive stops in the final quarter to make a run to grab the lead.
Fourth Quarter
The Eagles worked hard to make something happen, but the high-powered offense of the nationally ranked Texas Woman's were able to keep scoring and hold to beat the Eagles.
