Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Lady Eagles (3-16, LSC 2-13) closed out a four-game homestand by hosting the Lady Patriots of UT Tyler (18-5, LSC 12-2).
First Quarter
The Eagles came out in the game looking for a tough battle against a ranked opponent. The Eagles kept pace with the Patriots as the first quarter ended tied between the two teams.Â
Kate Bradley went one hundred percent from the field, scoring eight points in the quarter. Â
Second QuarterÂ
The Eagles continued to play a gritty half of basketball to stay with one of the top teams in the conference. OC emphasized getting rebounds, and Taylor Jackson led the way, finishing the first half with seven rebounds.Â
The Eagles held a one-point lead at the half over the ranked Patriots at 28-27.Â
Third Quarter
The Eagles and the Patriots battled another ten minutes of basketball, fighting for the lead.Â
Midway through the third quarter, the Patriots managed to gain a bit of momentum to take a five-point lead.Â
The Eagles were able to get a few baskets back and make it a one-possession game before the final ten minutes.
Fourth QuarterÂ
Taylor Jackson had a big fourth quarter, scoring eight in the final ten minutes of play, fighting to keep the Eagles within striking distance.
With six seconds left in the game, the Eagles had a chance to drive the ball down and take the final shot. The shot fell just short of the basket, and UT Tyler was able to walk away with a two-point victory.Â
