PORTALES, N.M. - Oklahoma Christian's offense struggled to get anything going Thursday night, managing just four assists as a team, before dropping its Lone Star Conference opener to Eastern New Mexico, 91-68.
The Eagles' main offensive catalysts through five games,
Keyondre Young and
Marco Foster, combined to go 6-of-24 from the field, including 2-of-13 from three-point range, as their rough shooting night reflected OC's 3-of-20 (15.0 percent) three-point field-goal performance.
Young still led Oklahoma Christian in scoring as well as on the board, recording 15 points and six rebounds.
Miles Gibson went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field while hitting one of his two free-throws for a season-high nine points.
The night started with ENMU making the first four points of the game as the Eagles never led in the 2024-25 conference debut. After the Greyhounds opened a 22-point halftime lead, OC kept in stride with Eastern in the second half, but the damage had already been done.
Oklahoma Christian looked to string a couple baskets together in the second 20-minute stint, but the unrelenting Greyhounds left little doubt in route to a 91-68 victory. The Eagles will now take on No. 2 West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas, Saturday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m.
