Lady Eagles Earn LSC Win Over Falcons Behind Outstanding Performances From Bradley and Jackson

EDMOND, Okla. - The Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles (4-3, LSC 1-2) hosted their first conference home game of the season with a massive victory over the University Texas Permian Basin (5-4, LSC 3-1). The Lady Eagles hand the Falcons their first conference loss.

First Quarter (OC 20 - UTPB 13)

The game began fast and chaotic, with neither team being able to find much production before the first media timeout. Jordan Francisco and Taylor Jackson found other ways to help the Lady Eagles find a spark by disrupting UTPB post-play.

After the first break in play, the Lady Eagles, behind Kate Bradley's hot hand, jumped out in front of the Falcons. After missing her first two from long, Bradley drained three in a row to push the lead to eight.

Ciara Harris, who came off the bench in the final minutes of the first quarter of the game, brought energy to OC's offense.

Second Quarter (OC 31 - UTPB 32)

The Falcons came into the second quarter with a new fire, quickly scoring a few easy buckets off the Lady Eagles' mistakes.

Bradley let it fly from deep, going 2-2 in the second quarter. This kept the Lady Eagles right behind the Falcons, who, despite jumping out to a two-possession lead, only went into the half down one.

Third Quarter (OC 47 - UTPB 49)

UTPB returned to the floor, looking to play fast and physically defensively. They kept the Lady Eagles unable to find a rhythm offensively and discovered their spark, hitting their first three shots from long range to start the second half.

Caitlynn Jordan hit a corner three late in the third quarter to keep the Lady Eagles within striking distance.

Taylor Jackson also dominated on the boards, grabbing seven in the quarter and earning her third double-double of the 2024-25 season.

Fourth Quarter (OC 60 - UTPB 57)

The final ten minutes began with a fury of back-and-forth buckets, with the Lady Eagles taking a one-point lead after the final media timeout.

Jackson, giving a career performance, did not quit fighting to keep the Lady Eagles with a slight lead and one minute to play in the game.

With just twelve seconds left on the clock, UTPB had one more chance to extend the game to overtime, but the Lady Eagles' defense prevailed, and they won a significant game over the Falcons, holding UTPB to just eight points in the final quarter.

Notes

  • Taylor Jackson - finished her career with a high single-game rebound total of 14, including 7 in the 3rd quarter, along with 22 points, just shy of her career-high, two assists and one steal.

  • Kate Bradley - finished with 20 points on 6-11 from the 3-point line, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

  • Nakia Cullom - finished with seven points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

  • Ciara Harris - Brought energy off the bench: five points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

  • Jordan Francisco - Finished a gritty performance on the defensive end, grabbing five rebounds and blocking three shots.
