EDMOND, Okla. -
Kyla Lovelace delivered her ninth multi-goal game of her career as Oklahoma Christian defeated Texas A&M International, 3-0. With the win, OC punched its ticket to next week's 2024 Lone Star Conference Tournament.
What Went Down
- Oklahoma Christian scored the match's first goal in the 26' off of the left foot of Zoe Ross after a slow start.
- Five minutes later, Kyla Lovelace scored after a great assist by Caid Jefferson.
- With only three minutes left in the first half, Lovelace scored her second goal of the night for the 3-0 halftime lead.
Notes
- Sophomore Sophia Acuna from Edmond, Okla., Sophia Acuña started her second game of the season, playing 75 minutes of terrific defense to uphold OC's seventh clean sheet of the season.
- Lovelace now has 33 career goals, including 15 this season. The Mustang, Okla. native is the goals leader (15) and points leader (31) in the conference.
- After opening up play with the first goal of the night, Ross now has three career goals.
- The Eagles punch their first-ever ticket to the seven-team* LSC postseason tournament.
*Following the 2020 Covid-stricken season, 12 teams made the postseason tournament, of which OC qualified.
