Lady Eagles Dominate the Saints in the Largest Margin of Victory in the Coach Brown Era

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (1-1, 0-0 LSC) captured their first game of the season in a dominating fashion over Randall University (2-5). 

First Quarter 

Nakia Cullom came into the game ready to dominate and make her mark. She led the Lady Eagles with nine points and a perfect shooting percentage from the field and the free-throw line. 

The Lady Eagles were cruising on offense racking up seven assists as a team and outscoring the Saints 24-8. 

Second Quarter 

The Lady Eagles continued their outstanding offensive performance in the second quarter. With 33 points, the team tied its highest-scoring quarter total under Coach Brown. 

While Cullom continued to have a stellar shooting night, bringing her first-half total to 16 points, Caitlynn Jordan came off the bench to add 11 in the quarter.

Jordan Francisco and Taylor Jackson dominated the boards, combining for 11 in the half, while Kate Bradley facilitated the Lady Eagles game plan and dished out seven assists. 

The Lady Eagles went to the locker room with a 37-point lead and were winning the battle in every statistical category. 

Third Quarter 

With their foot on the gas, the Lady Eagles continued to push the ball down the floor and find their open teammates. 

Bradley made quick work of the first five minutes of the half, scoring six points and swiping the ball from the Saints two times.

The Lady Eagles continued to own the rebound game, as eight different players grabbed a board for OC. 

Fourth Quarter 

In the final quarter of play, Ciara Harris took over, scoring 11 points on 5-6 shooting. 

Taylor Jackson, in the final minutes of the game, grabbed her 10th rebound to claim her second straight double-double. 

OC's offensive outburst was highlighted by the teams' ability to find each other on scoring opportunities, finishing with eight assists in the final ten minutes of play. 

The Lady Eagles would finish off the Saints with a final score of 104-39. This was not only the most points scored under the helm of Coach Brown, but also the largest margin of victory.

Notes

  • Nine different Lady Eagles scored, eight different Lady Eagles recorded a steal and an assist, and all ten different Lady Eagles grabbed at least one rebound. 

  • Taylor Jackson earned her second double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 steals. 

  • Nakia Cullom put on a shooting clinic, missing only one shot from the field. Cullom finished with 20 points on 7-8 from the field, 2-2 from long range, and 4-4 at the charity stripe. Cullom also finished with 3 assists and 6 rebounds. 

  • Kate Bradley finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 assists.

  • Caitlynn Jordan found her groove in the second half, finishing with 15 points and 6 rebounds. 

  • Ciara Harris finished with 14 points, 11 of those coming in the final quarter.
