Men’s Basketball Wins at Home in an Overtime Thriller

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (7-8, LSC 4-5) hosted Texas A&M University-Kingsville (3-11, LSC 1-8) in an overtime thriller.

FIRST HALF
Both teams were able to battle off the cold weather and start a hot offensive battle.
Quinton Johnson got things started for the Eagles with two early three-pointers. Karlyn Kenner and Nick Traylor found ways to slip through the defense and get to the bucket several times.
Kenner would finish the first half with eleven points to lead the Eagles.

The Eagles bench would outscore the Javelinas bench 16-9 in the first half, as OC would go into the half with a three-point lead.

SECOND HALF
In the second half, the Eagles were able to stench their lead. OC continued to make their presence known in the paint, letting that be the difference between the two teams in the second half.

The Javelinas crawled their way back from being down, led by the offense of C.J. Smith. Smith, in a 20-plus point effort, pushed the TAMUK with a possession late in the game.

Eventually tying the game off a corner three from Allen Singleton, with less than a minute to play, the Eagles found themselves down by one.

Moun'Tae Edmundson drove in with seconds left to tie the game and sent the game into overtime.

The Eagles took control of the game in overtime, scoring fourteen and shutting down the Javelinas to get the win, 88-81.
