KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oklahoma Christian women's soccer (3-0-1) completed its weekend sweep in Missouri with a 1-0 victory over Rockhurst University (2-1-1) on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman
Breanna Wooten earned her second career start and came away with her second clean sheet in as many days to open her career in goal for the Eagles. Today's performance looked slightly different in the volume of shots against OC, with nineteen, but only five were on goal, and Wooten saved them all.
The match picked up in the second half when the Eagles took five shots compared to their two in the first half, and they broke through in the 72nd minute on a
Brooklyn Fink direct kick goal. The goal was Fink's third of the season, all coming in the same fashion, this one from 40 yards out. Fink's goal was also her second game-winning goal of the season after scoring the first goal in the Missouri Southern match.
OC's win handed Rockhurst its first loss of the season, a team that just tied the No. 9 team in the nation a week ago. The 3-0-1 start for the Eagles is the best in the Division 2 era and the best in the program's history since 2009.
