Norman, Okla. - The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the 2023 Dave Williams National Coach of the Year Award presented by Golf Pride Grips, awarding six recipients, one each from NCAA DI-DIII, NAIA, and NJCAA DI-DII.
 
Representing the NCAA DII level was Oklahoma Christian's David Lynn, winning the award for the second time in his career, previously winning it in 2011 at the NAIA level.

"The three-time Lone Star Conference (LSC) Coach of the Year, Lynn led Oklahoma Christian to 12 top-five finishes, three victories, including the UC San Diego Invitational against multiple DI teams, and their second straight national runner-up finish. The Eagles were led on the course by three PING All-Region golfers, including the program's first LSC Player of the Year, Exequiel Rodriquez."

Along with the impressive accomplishments mentioned in the release, Lynn's impressive year also included a Lone Star Conference championship, a Lone Star Conference Individual championship won by Exequiel Rodriguez, and he will soon add three All-Americans honors to his current total of 89 that Lynn has coached so far.

What an incredible honor to be recognized as the NCAA DII Dave Williams National Coach of the Year presented Golf Pride Grips. To be recognized by my peers for the season we had is extremely satisfying. I am so thankful to be at Oklahoma Christian, leading a great group of young men on and off the course. I am grateful for their hard work this season; it was an amazing ride.
