Foster, Anderson, and Dickson lead Eagles to a doubleheader sweep at Texas Woman’s

Denton, Texas - Oklahoma Christian rolled in game one with Payton Foster and Grace Anderson combining to hold Texas Woman's to two runs. And Jill Dickson spun another gem to earn the Eagles a series win in Denton.

Game 1

After being shutout in game one, the Eagles' offense responded in the top of the first, scoring two runs on three hits. Brooklin Bain singled and stole third to open the game, and Kristen Whitehouse walked to put runners on first and second.

Aaliyah Brown took advantage of the runner in scoring position and brought Bain across the plate on an RBI double. The double was Brown's 9th, and the RBI was her 36th of the season. With Whitehouse advancing to third on the double, Janzen brought her home on a sacrifice fly RBI, to give OC a 2-0 lead.

TWU scored a run in the bottom of the third inning, on a bases-loaded hit by pitch, to cut the lead to 2-1.

Payton Foster allowed just one run on three hits and struck out two Pioneers in her three innings in the circle.

In the fifth inning, Kelsey Gammage entered the game and single through the right side of the infield, and Tristyn Hamilton and Bain made it three consecutive singles to load the bases. Marissa Powell pinch-hit for Hannah Pate and reach on a fielder's choice to keep the bases loaded.

Whitehouse stepped up with the bases loaded and gave Oklahoma Christian a 3-1 lead with an RBI single, scoring Hamilton. And Brown followed that by extending the lead to 4-1 with a sacrifice fly RBI.

Grace Anderson who entered for Foster in the fourth inning was dealing and had not allowed a hit going until the 6th inning. But with two outs, TWU reached on back-to-back singles with two outs and up stepped Alyssa LeBlanc, one the best players in the LSC. Grace met the challenge by striking out LeBlanc, ending the Pioneers' rally.

Hannah Pate led off the top of the 7th with a double, moving to third on a Whitehouse single, and Brown brought Pate home on an RBI fielder's choice.

With the 5-1 lead, Anderson worked around a couple of hits resulting in a run, to secure her second win of the season, with a 5-2 victory over Texas Woman's.

Game 2

Jill Dickson struck out eight Pioneers in game two, striking out five TWU batters in the first two innings.

In the top of the second, the offense gave her the only runs she'd need after singles from Brown and Walde, and a Janzen walk loaded the bases. Boo Robinson scored Janzen and Kate Bradley, who was pinch running, to give OC a 2-0 lead.

Texas Woman's scored in the 4th on a fielding error, after a leadoff single, and another single to the outfield resulted in the error.

Whitney Walde, Brown, and Robinson all reached base on singles after the second inning, but no one else came across the plate for the Eagles.

Dickson dealt into the 7th when after getting one out, TWU reached on a single, but the runner later left early for out number two. A two-out single resulted in LeBlanc stepping up to the plate with a chance to tie or take the lead, and Grace Anderson came in to face LeBlanc for the second time in similar situations. This time LeBlanc singled, but Grace got the next batter out to pick up the save and give the Eagles a 2-1 series victory.
