Denton, Texas - The Eagles opened a conference series against Texas Woman's (20-19, 12-16 LSC), who currently sit in 11th place in the conference standings.
Jill Dickson got the start and held the Pioneers to just two hits throughout the first four innings.
Over that same span,
Whitney Walde and
Kylie Janzen reached on singles, and
Brooklin Bain,
Hannah Pate, and
Tristyn Hamilton reached base on walks. Hamilton, Bain, and Janzen loaded the bases with one out in the top of the fourth, but a flyout turned into a double play to end the inning.
Texas Woman's took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single, double, and sacrifice fly to take a 3-0 lead.
Brooklin reached on a single in the sixth, and Hamilton reached on an error in the seventh, but TWU took the 3-0 win in game one.
