Kingsville, Texas - Oklahoma Christian softball is on the road for the final road series of the regular season. They opened the series with a doubleheader sweep over the Javelinas of Texas A&M Kingsville.

GAME 1

Jill Dickson and
Grace Anderson combined to allow just two hits and a run in a shutdown effort over Kingsville.

Brooklin Bain led off the top of the first with a double to center field, a
Hannah Pate sacrifice bunt moved Bain to third base, and
Kristen Whitehouse brought Bain home on a sacrifice fly RBI.

Dickson worked around a leadoff walk, thanks in part to Pate throwing a runner out at the plate to end the bottom of the first with the Eagles holding a 1-0 lead.

Bain started the top of the third the same way she did the first, but this time it was a Whitehouse single that advanced her to third base. And with runners on first and third, Whitehouse stole second, and Bain swiped home on the throw to give OC a 2-0 lead.

Three strikeouts highlighted the third and fourth inning for Dickson, and she worked around a one-out walk in the fifth to hold the Javelinas scoreless through five innings. In the bottom of the 6th, a leadoff single and walk put runners on first and second, and Anderson came in to relieve Dickson. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners to second and third, and a sacrifice fly brought one home, but Anderson got out of the inning with a strikeout.

With a 2-1 lead, the Eagles looked to add some insurance, and
Kylie Janzen got things started with a pinch-hit leadoff double.
Tristyn Hamilton moved Janzen to third with a sacrifice bunt, and an RBI single from Bain put Oklahoma Christian up 3-1 in the top of the seventh.

Anderson sat the side down in order in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the save, her second of the season, and get the series-opening win for OC. Dickson was credited with the win bringing her total to 17 so far in her freshman campaign.

GAME 2

The Eagles left no doubt in the second game, with a four-run sixth inning blowing things open.

Bain started the top of the first with a double to center field, was moved to third on a
Whitney Walde sacrifice bunt, and scored on a Janzen sacrifice RBI.

Kingsville opened the bottom of the inning with back-to-back singles and tied the game later in the inning on a sacrifice fly.

Payton Foster worked around two two-out singles to hold TAMUK scoreless in the second inning.

In the top of the third inning, the offense got back to work, scoring two runs on three hits. Bain reached base after being hit by a pitch, and a Walde double put runners on second and third with one out. Janzen picked up her second RBI of the game on an RBI single scoring Bain, and
Aaliyah Brown brought Walde home on an RBI sacrifice fly.

Foster shut TAMUK down the rest of the way, and OC's bats helped the Eagles run away with game two.

Janzen brought in another run for OC in the 5th on an RBI triple, giving OC a 4-1 lead, and in the sixth
Boo Robinson got things started with a one-out single.
Marissa Powell pinch-hit and worked a walk, and with runners on first and second, Bain scored
Kate Bradley, running for Robinson, with an RBI single. Hamilton pinch ran for Powell, and the Eagles executed a double steal with Bain and Hamilton taking second and third, paving the way for a Walde two-RBI single. And another RBI triple from Janzen scored Walde to cap the four-run inning.

With the 8-1 lead, the Javelinas scored a single run in the seventh, but Karysn Iltis, who came in in the seventh, closed the game for OC. Foster struck out five Javelinas and notched her seventh win of the season.
