Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - The Eagles split a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon against UT Tyler to take a 2-1 advantage over the Patriots, with the final game of the series tomorrow at 1 p.m.
Game 1: OC 6, UTT 1
Naut Kragt made his Oklahoma Christian debut and shined with a complete game performance. Kragt only allowed 1 run on 6 hits and struck out 5 Patriots' batters.
UT Tyler jumped out on top in the top of the third, but the lead only lasted an inning. In the bottom of the 4th, the Eagles' offense opened up the game on
Marcus Johnson, 2 RBI single that scored
Preston King and
Blake Empkey, who both reached base on singles. And
Hunter Jones brought home Johnson and DiFiore with another 2 RBI single after Johnson had stolen second base. Jones also caught a runner stealing in the defensive half of the inning.
The Eagles had five singles in the third inning to open the 3-1 lead.
Grant Lake capped OC's offensive with a two-run home run to left field, scoring Johnson, who reached on a double to left field the at-bat before Lake's.
Game 2: OC 2, UTT 10
In game two, Tyler's bats came alive, taking a 7-run lead in the third inning.
The Eagles' two runs came in the fourth inning on a
Grant Lake double, scoring
Marcus Johnson and
Blake Empkey, who each reached base on singles.
