Oklahoma City, Okla. – Oklahoma Christian returns to the Nest after a battle with the saints of the Lone Star for a senior week matchup against Eastern and Western New Mexico.
The Eagles will open the week with Eastern New Mexico who is coming off a win at Lubbock Christian last Saturday.
TEAM LEADERS
On the offensive side of the ball, Oklahoma Christian continues to have three players averaging at least 11 points per game:
Antonio Gordon (15.1 ppg),
Drew Tennial (14.9 ppg), and Mount'Tae Edmundson (12.2 ppg). Edmundson has been delivering as a playmaker by delivering 73 assists on the year, which is 8th in the Lone Star.
Leading the Eagles in rebounding, Gordon and Tennial, each average over 6 rebounds per game, with 6.5 and 6.2 respectively.
Defensively, the Eagles currently have three players with 24 or more steals on the season:
Drew Tennial (36), Mount'tae Edmundson (26), and
Karlyn Kenner (25). Tennial's 34 steals placed him at 9th in the Lone Star in total steals for this season. In addition to his 19 seals,
Antonio Gordon has obliterated several opponent's scoring opportunities, leading to 35 blocks on the season. He remains in third place throughout the Lone Star Conference in total blocks for the year.
Offensively, Eastern New Mexico is led by four players, who are both averaging at least 10 points per game, led by Jahcoree Ealy (13.3) and Greg Johnson (11.2). Ealy also leads the team in assists with 55 this season,
Battling for rebounds, Errol White (9.0 rpg) and Jose Murillo (4.7 rpg) are the focus when fighting for loose boards for the Greyhounds.
Regarding defense, the Greyhounds feature three players with more than 25 steals, led by White with 39 on the season. Protecting the rim, Murillo has led Eastern with 30 blocks during this year's campaign.
